The Malham Cove and Gordale Scar walk is a stunning and popular route in the Yorkshire Dales. Join us for a guided walk with some breath-taking scenery, geological natural wonders and some stunning wildlife.

  • From Malham village, we’ll head northwest towards Malham Cove, following the well-marked footpath. The path takes us through picturesque countryside with dry stone walls and green pastures. As we approach Malham Cove, the landscape becomes more dramatic. The Cove is an impressive limestone amphitheatre with a towering cliff face.

  • After enjoying the views from the top of the cove, we’ll head towards Gordale Scar, an awe-inspiring limestone gorge with towering cliffs. The path may involve some uneven terrain, so sturdy footwear is recommended.

  • After the jaw dropping Gordale Scar we’ll retrace our steps a short distance to Janet's Foss waterfall

  • Janet's Foss is a picturesque waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. It's a perfect spot for a rest and some photo opportunities

  • From Janet's Foss, we’ll follow the river and footpaths that lead us back to Malham Village.

  • The path takes you through woodlands and fields, providing a pleasant and varied landscape for the return journey

  • Wear sturdy hiking boots as the terrain can be uneven, especially around Gordale Scar.

  • Bring sufficient water, snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing.

  • Check weather conditions before setting out, and be prepared for changes in weather, as the Yorkshire Dales can be unpredictable.
