The Edale Skyline Challenge Walk is a breath-taking and challenging hike that takes you on a circular route around the picturesque Edale Valley in the Peak District, England. This approximately 20-mile trek offers stunning panoramic views, varied terrain, and a true test of your hiking abilities.

Starting and finishing this tough 20 mile challenge in the middle of Hope Village, we’ll start the walk with a steep climb up to the summit of Win Hill. After the initial hard work the terrain eases off for a few miles before we make our way up onto the Kinder Scout plateau where we’ll traverse along the Southern edge of this vast moorland landscape. Follow the well-defined paths, and keep an eye out for Ringing Roger and the Woolpacks before heading south towards Brown Knoll, passing over open moorland. The path may be less defined here, so having a guide on this section can be crucial. Brown Knoll offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. Descending from Brown Knoll we’ll make our way towards Rushup Edge. The trail will take us through pastureland, and as we ascend the edge, we'll be rewarded with stunning views of the Edale Valley. Continuing along Rushup Edge, and we'll eventually reach Mam Tor, also known as the Shivering Mountain. The ascent is relatively steep, but the panoramic views from the summit are worth the effort. From Mam Tor we’ll head towards Hollins Cross. This section provides a gentler walk, allowing us to catch our breath and appreciate the scenery. We’ll then have our final ascent of the day up Lose Hill, the final peak of the challenge. The path is well-defined, and from the summit, we can enjoy spectacular views of the Hope Valley and the distant hills. We’ll descend from Lose Hill and follow the path back to Hope Village. The final stretch may be challenging, but the sense of accomplishment as you return to your starting point is immensely rewarding.
